We discovered the Washington Society of Landscape Artists on a perfect Friday noon in late October. Jogging out from Georgetown, we joined the artists just as they adjourned for lunch.
Their canvases of flaming trees and yellow, mid-river islands were perfect bookends for their perfect picnic. Even the amber-stained picnic table blended with their canvases and scene. On that day, we all wanted to be landscape artists.
The Washington Society of Landscape Artists regularly paints scenes along the C&O Canal, in Maryland and Virgnia. They know how to capture the perfect light, don't they? Look for their shows in Rock Creek Park in DC, and in Northern Virginia.
